INGREDIENTS

½ kg of thawed phyllo dough

4 eggs

400 g cheese

(for example, cottage cheese)

2 dl sparkling mineral water

1 dl oil

½ teaspoon of salt

SERVES 6
  1. Batter the eggs
  2. In the battered eggs add mashed cheese, sparkling mineral water and oil and mix all together
  3. Oil the baking dish
  4. On the bottom of the baking dish place one phyllo dough and keep one aside.
  5. Cut all the other phyllo dough into halves. Dip one by one into the mixture. Drain each a bit, then crumple them and place them on the baking dish until dish is covered.
  6. Take the phyllo dough that was left aside and place over pieces in the baking dish. Tuck it under the dough that it is on the bottom, to wrap it a bit. Pour three tablespoons of mixture over it.
  7. Preheat the oven and bake the gibanica for approximately 30 minutes on 200°C.
